1. How do I get a message to an inmate in your facility?

Unfortunately, staff are not permitted to pass messages to inmates. 

2. How do I set up an account with the inmate phone system provider?

Access ICSolutions online at www.icsolutions.com and complete the fields in the 'Create an Account' box. Click Submit to begin the account registration process.

3. How do I get money on an inmate’s commissary or set up an account with the inmate commissary provider?

You may deposit money onto an inmate’s commissary account, or set up an account, by visiting Smart Deposit, or by phone at 1-866-394-0490. You may also deposit money through a convenience kiosk in the lobby of the Detention Center.

The Commissary Program normally operates as follows:

1. Detention staff members are prohibited from accepting, depositing or processing funds sent through the U.S. Mail, except for those coming from other correctional facilities.  Unauthorized funds will be returned to the sender unprocessed.
2. Commissary funds may only be deposited.
3. You must have sufficient funds in your account to purchase commissary items; the purchase cost is directly deducted from your commissary account by the commissary provider.  

The Commissary Program is a privilege and not a detainee right.  Program participation is subject to suspension at any time without notice.

4. Can I bring items to the facility to get to an inmate?

The Jefferson County Detention Center will not accept the delivery of any items from outside sources, with the following exceptions:

Reasonable amount of legal material from attorneys and Probation/Parole.

Low or non-tinted prescription eye-wear/contacts.

Prescription medication in original container.

5. How do I visit an inmate in the detention center?

You may come in person to schedule a visit, or use our Video Visitation System.
