Citizens Academy
The Sheriff's Citizens Academy (SCA) was created to allow the citizens of Jefferson County to gain some insight and create a better understanding between the citizens and the Sheriff's Office. Each graduating class produces a growing number of citizens with first hand knowledge of the practices and procedures of the Sheriff's Office. All Law Enforcement topics are addressed in the classes but they are not meant to train the citizens to become police officers.

Victim Services
A Law Enforcement Victim Services Program has a unique advantage in that it can address the needs of victims that may never be served by another agency. Shelters and other victim service agencies must generally wait for the victim to make contact with them. Even a prosecution based victim witness advocate usually does not get involved in cases that are not prosecuted.
